Who these terms are with
Passport Pin is operated by Imprint Media Group Pty Ltd (ABN 88 636 921 429), of Level 1, Suite 1.01/222 Pitt St, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia. "We", "us" and "our" mean that company; "you" means you.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service. If you are agreeing on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and at least 18 years old — and legally able to form a binding contract — to make a booking or hold a Passport+ subscription.
You are responsible for everything done through your account. Keep your credentials to yourself and tell us at support@passportpin.com if you think someone else has them.
Acceptable use
Use the service for your own travel planning and booking. You must not:
- scrape, crawl, harvest or bulk-download our content, or use automated means to access the service beyond ordinary browsing;
- copy, republish or resell our guides, data or design;
- reverse engineer the service, or interfere with its security, availability or integrity;
- make a booking you do not intend to honour, or use the service to test, probe or defraud a payment system;
- upload anything unlawful, misleading, infringing or malicious;
- use the service to build a competing product or dataset.
We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of this section, and we may take legal action where the breach warrants it.
Bookings
Stays. When you book a stay, you are booking a room at the property through our booking partner, who is the merchant of record and takes the payment. We are not the property and we are not the travel provider. The room, the terms and the stay itself are the property’s to honour.
Experiences, flights and transfers. These may be completed on a partner’s own site. Where they are, the booking is a contract between you and that partner, and their terms govern it. We show you what the partner told us and the date we asked.
Accuracy. Availability, prices and descriptions come from the supplier and can change between the moment you see them and the moment you book. A booking is only confirmed when you receive a confirmation with a reference.
Prices and currency
Prices on this site are quoted and charged in United States dollars (USD) unless a page says otherwise. Your bank or card issuer may apply its own conversion rate and a foreign-transaction fee, which are theirs and not ours.
The price shown on a room is the price charged in full at the time of booking. It includes the taxes and fees our partner collects. Anything the property charges you on arrival — a city tax, a resort fee, parking — is theirs and is not in that number.
Estimates described as "roughly", "about" or "per day" are editorial guidance for choosing between places. They are not quotes and nothing is bookable at them.
If a price is displayed that is obviously wrong — a manifest error — we may decline or cancel the booking and refund you in full.
Cancellations and refunds
Each room states whether it is refundable before you book, in the property’s own words, and that is the term that governs it. "Free cancellation" and "Non-refundable" are the property’s labels, not ours.
You can request a cancellation from Your bookings and we pass it straight to the partner. Whether money comes back, and how much, is decided by the terms you booked under.
If a booking is charged and does not confirm, that is ours to fix. Send the reference to support@passportpin.com and we will either confirm the booking or return the money.
Passport+ subscriptions
Passport+ is a subscription, billed yearly or monthly, which renews automatically until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars.
The yearly plan begins with a free trial for new subscribers. The checkout states the trial length and the first charge date before you confirm. The monthly plan has no trial and is charged on the day you subscribe.
Cancel at any time from Settings. Cancelling keeps Passport+ until the end of the period you have paid for; we do not refund part-periods except where the law requires it.
When Passport+ ends, nothing is deleted. Your newest active trip stays editable, older active trips become read-only until you subscribe again, and the AI planning limits return to the free tier.
We may change subscription prices. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before the change applies to your renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
How the service is funded
Some links and bookings on this site earn us a commission. It never changes what you pay, and it never changes what we say. Subscriptions are the other part of the business.
Commercial arrangements never buy position in a list, a badge, a "featured" slot or a kinder description. We carry no display advertising and no sponsored destinations.
Our content
The guides, editorial judgements, photographs we license, design, code, data compilations and the Passport Pin name and marks are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright and trade mark law.
You may read, share a link to, and print a page for your own personal, non-commercial use. Everything else — copying, republishing, adapting, text and data mining, or using our content to train a machine-learning model — requires our written permission. We expressly reserve our rights under Article 4(3) of the EU Directive on Copyright in the Digital Single Market.
Some material is reproduced from Wikipedia under CC BY-SA 4.0 and is attributed where it appears; that material remains under its own licence.
Your content
Your map, pins, trips, budgets and lists are yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store them, display them back to you, and render them into a share card when you ask for one. That licence exists only to run the service and ends when you delete the content or your account.
A public profile or a public trip is only public if you switch it on, and you can switch it off again at any time.
If you send us a pitch, a correction or a suggestion, you allow us to use it without obligation or payment, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Other people’s sites
The service links to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, their privacy practices or their terms, and a link is not an endorsement. Read the terms of any site you book on.
What this service is not
Nothing on Passport Pin is legal, immigration, medical, financial or insurance advice.
Entry rules, visa requirements, health requirements and safety conditions change without notice and depend on your passport, your route and the day. We link the official source rather than summarising it, and the official source is the one to rely on. Confirm with the relevant government before you book or travel.
Editorial content reflects our judgement on the date shown. Practical facts carry the date they were checked. Neither is a guarantee of current conditions.
Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, and we will give reasonable notice where a change materially affects a paid feature.
Guarantees we cannot exclude
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value; and to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If the failure does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have problems with the service rectified in a reasonable time and, if this is not done, to cancel your contract and obtain a refund for the unused portion.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer elsewhere, nothing here affects your non-excludable rights under the law of your country of residence.
Liability
Subject to the section above, and to the extent the law permits: we provide the service "as is"; we exclude all implied warranties; and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss arising from a supplier’s act or omission.
Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited — at our option — to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied. In any event, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or cost arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your infringement of anyone else’s rights.
Ending this agreement
You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service.
The sections on our content, your content, liability, indemnity and governing law survive termination.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the courts able to hear appeals from them.
If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when. Where a change materially affects your rights we will give notice by email or on the site before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
The rest
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. These terms are the entire agreement between us about the service.
