One long avenue with most of the city on it, a very large flagpole, and the Pamir Highway starting somewhere past the edge of town. Green, slow and cheaper than anywhere near it.

The Dushanbe Flagpole is a free–standing flagpole located in front of the Palace of Nation in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. At 165 metres, it was the tallest flagpole in the world from its completion in 2011 until the 2014 erection of the 171 m (561 ft) Jeddah Flagpole. It is now the fifth tallest flagpole in the world.

The Presidential Palace is surrounded by the Dushanbe Flagpole to the north, Rudaki Park to the east, Dousti Square to the south and Varzob River to the west.
